Sworn translations are translations of documents of an official nature. The most common types of documents requiring sworn translations are those which have legal or administrative validity, such as birth certificates, company statutes, annual accounts, academic certificates, university degrees, etc.

Sworn translations can only be done by sworn translators, who are authorised by the Directorate-General for Language Policy of the Government of Catalonia for Catalan or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Spanish Government for Spanish.
